COOL Christmas Card

Robyn at My Pink Stamper is having a challenge this week to make a card using 2 shades of pink, 2 shades of blue and black. What a combo! I have been wanting to use these fabulous penguins from Simply Charmed so I figured this was a great chance to do that. Don't you just love penguins?? God did so good when he created them...they are just the cutest. I love the way they waddle. My husband laughed at me because I sat and just watched intensely during "March of the Penguins". I am not one for educational television but I just loved that! Ok....back on track. Here's my take on the Pink Stamper Challenge.

Simple Cards

Christmas is coming sooooo quickly! Last week, I had some wonderful young helpers decorate my classroom at church for me, so I wanted to make them each a thank you card. Two are young boys and one is a teenage girl. Here's what I made for them...

I made this for the girl. I used the sentiment and bowl of strawberries from Simply Charmed. Love that cute bowl!!!

This is from Smiley Cards. I tried to keep this as simple as possible because it was for a 12 year old boy! (You know......not much will please them!)

I made this using Create a Critter for the dinosaur and the word DinoMite. I handwrote "You are" with a black Sharpie. The orange paper was some embossed paper I got on clearance.

I will have some Christmas projects to post in the next day or two. I'm also very excited to share that I am working on my first video. I hope to share it with you all soon! I am working on a couple of gypsy tutorials......can't wait!!

I've been M.I.A.

Well, I feel like I haven't crafted in....FOR-E-VER! I have alot going on right now and everything sorta feels like chaos. I tend to be a bit obsessive-compulsive (which I really don't think is such a bad thing....) and when things aren't organized in my life it drives me bonkers...nutso...crazy...insane. I will be crafting tomorrow night (and lovin' every minute of it!) but until then, I thought I'd share something non-craft related. I have really gotten hooked on "extreme couponing". So, tonight, my mom, my sister-in-law, my best buddy and I all went to Homeland to score some deals with double coupons. It took us forever because we tend to dawdle...but...we had a great time! And here are my bargains for the evening.

(Sorry for the bad pic....it's pitiful, I know!) I ended up with a total of $38.46 before coupons. After DOUBLE coupons, I paid $7.77!!! I got the dinner rolls and sandwich rolls FREE. I am in love with couponing. Head over heels. I have fallen hard and there's no turning back. Who doesn't love free stuff? If you're interested, I learned all about it from the Krazy Coupon Lady and Money Saving Queen. You should check out their sites if you're interested.

I hope you all have a fabulously blessed evening and I will hopefully be posting several new cards tomorrow evening!

Cricut Cardz Challenge #52

The challenge this week at Cricut Cardz Challenge is to make a card using ONLY words from your Cricut - No pictures or other shapes. That's pretty hard when you have a {mild} addiction to your Cricut like I do. I say mild because it could always be worse, right? Anyway, I decided to use my Gypsy and make my words instead of using a sentiment on one of my carts. I used Plantin Schoolbook and Gypsy font for the lettering. It's quite simple but for some reason I really like it.

I used kraft for the background (that you can barely see). Then used my white Gelly Roll pen to do faux stitching, added a green button over the i, then voila! I was done.

Blessings,

I LOVE my new trimmer!!!

I had to buy a new trimmer yesterday. I had a pink CutterBee rotary trimmer. One day, I had propped it up against the wall on the floor by my desk and it apparently slid over into the floor. I didn't realize this and stepped right on it! I have been trying use it, even though it's half-broken. When I noticed it wasn't cutting straight, I decided I had to bite the bullet and buy a new one. Hobby Lobby has 40% off them this week, so I headed over there. I noticed a new trimmer in their store by Marvy Uchida. I love variety and am always wanting to try new things, so I got it. Here's what it looks like in the package:

I wasn't sure about buying this brand, because although I've heard of it, I haven't seen alot from Marvy except punches and pens. Let me say....I am loving it. I comes with a handheld trimmer that you can attach the blade to for freestyle cutting. I also love how clear and easy to read the ruler is. It has a rotary blade, which I'm also quite fond of. Here are few more pics....

You can also purchase different blades. Here's a pic of the insert in the package showing what's available.

I would highly recommend this trimmer. It cuts so easily and smooth....like butta!!!! =) Check it out...you might like it!

Throwback Thursday Cricut-Less Challenge!

So Emma's challenge this week at My Creative Time is to make a card without the Cricut. Although that's hard for me now, I started making cards long before I had my beloved Cricut. It would take me hours....but I enjoyed it still! Here's my cricut-less card for a lingerie/wedding shower. I hand cut the corset and undies, then punch some pink paper for the scalloped trim. I used my craft knife to make tiny slits and then laced the ribbon up the corset. Enjoy!

Fantabulous Cricut - Challenge #36

This week's challenge at Fantabulous Cricut is to make a get well card. I'm really loving Smiley Cards...so I chose this cute band-aid. I actually used the hide/contour feature on my gypsy and swapped his eyes and mouth with another characters to make him look "sicker"...ha ha. I think it's missing something but everything I added just looked weird. Ever have one of those days???

Oh.....and have you ever thought about how to spell the word Ow-ee? or is it Owie?? Or Owwee?? Who knows? I don't so I guessed. What do you think?

HOOT!!! Birthday Card

We have tons of birthdays in November at work. And I am the official birthday card maker of the office. A couple of my co-workers actually like my cards and have ordered from me after seeing some of them; The rest of them...well...I think they like not having to pitch in to buy a card since I make them for free for all the birthdays up there! Oh well. =) I just got Create a Critter and Simply Charmed from cricutmachine.com and was so excited. The MAIN reason I bought Create a Critter is for this fabu-licious owl with the darling eyelashes. I think she's the cutest owl EVER! So, of course I had to make a card with her. What do you think?
