Pleated Card

Hi Everyone!  I hope you are all doing well today.  I have a fun birthday card to share with you today.  I saw this idea somewhere a long time ago, but honestly have no idea where!

The card base is A2 size (4.25" x 5.5").  I used kraft cardstock for the base and for a mat on the front.

The sentiment is a bit of a mess, as you can see above!  It's a stamp from the dollar bin at Michaels and didn't come out so well.

I cut the butterfly from Indie Art at 1.5".  I added glossy accents to the antanae and the body of the flutterby.  I then glue 3 together and folded the wings to make it stand out.

This part of the card was a little more tricky.  I cut the floral paper to 6" x 2.75".  After many failed attempts, I ended up scoring the paper at 1", 1.25", 2". 2.25", 3", 3.25" and so on.  The "ruffle" isn't perfect, but I love the effect!  I am going to try this again someday....

That's all for today, folks!

Blessings,
Cheryl

Father's Day Card... Very Late!

As I mentioned on Tuesday,  I had a couple of people order cards from me for Father's Day and I wanted to share a few of the cards.  I shared one Tuesday using the cartridge of the month, Boys Will Be Boys.  I made several that were just alike and unfortunately, only remembered to take pictures of two of them, so here's the second one.

I have to admit, I took the inspiration for this card from a card I saw using the same sentiment.  I cannot remember where I saw this, so if it was you, let me know!  I want to give you credit for the idea!

I used Blackletter for "dad" and Alphalicious for the other lettering.  I cut the bomb from Indie Art.

I added some accent dots using my white gel pen.  I also added some black "bling" (for lack of a better word).

Sorry I'm so late sharing this with you!  I think this little bomb is really cute.  Wait.... Can a bomb be cute?  I'm sure it can.  It would only be cuter if it were pink!  And sparkly!  Anyway, thanks for stopping by.  I'm so glad you did!

Blessings,
Cheryl

“I’m so Lucky” Blog Hop!!

Hello everyone!  Welcome to the “I’m so Lucky” blog hop.  You should have arrived here from Vivi’s blog.  If you didn’t, you will want to go back to Jennifer’s blog and start from the beginning.
With the theme being “I’m so Lucky”, we were asked to create two projects that represent blessings and things in our life that we are lucky to have.  Thanks so much to Jennifer for coordinating and planning this hop and for giving me the privilege of being a part of it!
This is not just a hop – there’s also a challenge with a prize!  The challenge is posted on Jennifer’s blog and in order to win, you’ll need to hop along, post on each person’s blog and then post your project on Jennifer’s blog.  Now on to my projects!
The first project I made is a card.  I used Lacy Labels for the base and welded it with my Gypsy.  The doll is made from Paisley and I made the sentiment on my computer.  I made this card for a good friend of mine.  I am so very blessed to have some of the best friends in the world.  I am grateful for each and every one of them.

I was trying to think of what I’d like to make for my second project and was really trying to think of something to represent the blessings I have.  I decided on a cross shaped bookmark made from Indie Art.  The sentiment is from Stamping Solutions.  The GREATEST blessing that’s ever happened to me has been my relationship with God.  He blessed me with a husband, a family and a church that I love so very much.  I can’t begin to put into words how grateful I am for the blessings He’s given me.  I definitely am “so lucky” and completely blessed.  The bookmark is quite simple but the one word says it all for me.
It’s hard to tell in the picture, but the black paper is textured and distressed.  The pink has a soft, glittery paisley pattern on it.

Don’t forget to keep hopping along.  Your next stop is my dear friend Sharon’s blog.  I’ve gotten to know her recently through the FIF Design Team and she’s such a sweetie.  I know she’ll have something great to share with you!
One last thing….how about some Blog Candy??  Just leave me a comment with your contact info to be entered.  The candy is a surprise, so I’ll reveal it on the day I draw the winner.
Here’s the hop order in case you get lost:

Flaunt it Friday’s Challenge #7

Happy Friday everyone!  I hope your week has been fabulous…but thank goodness it’s the weekend.  Since Monday is a holiday, I am off work so that makes the weekend so much better!  Today’s challenge over at Flaunt it Fridays is to use the skull from Mini Monsters.  I am a proud member of the design team, so here’s my project for this week.  I don’t own that cart (but want to!), so I used the skull from Indie Art instead.
