My week on Pinterest

Worst Monday morning idea ever?

Pinterest.

I came to work today feeling pretty good.  I had plans to tackle the many stacks on my desk and have everything caught up by this afternoon.  Then it happened.

I opened Pinterest.

Just to check on a recipe, I told myself.

"I will just check the ingredients so I can grab them on the way home." I thought.

Let's be real, people.  We never "just check the ingredients" on Pinterest.  It's a slippery slope.

I figured since I wasted so much time there, you might want to know what I found.  If I'm going down that slope, I'm taking you with me!

Here are some of my pins for today...

Doesn't this look scrumptious?  I have recently jumped back on the Weight Watchers wagon and I'm trying to find things to curb my sweet tooth.  That smooth lemon goodness is calling my name.

This is a really cool site with all kinds of Bible reading plans.  I normally do my Bible study/reading in the evenings, but I've been trying to start my days with something peaceful, so I started this today!

I {heart} this hair!  I wish mine was that full and wavy and pink.  I would totally dye my hair like this.

After my last post, I was thrilled to find this!  I have really been trying to get my brain under control and things like this help me.  Check it out...

I love pickles!  Especially Claussen.  They are uncooked and you buy them in the refrigerated section of the store.  I have wanted to try my hand at pickles for a while now and my hubby and I decided in a week, we're doing it.  These look like a good one to try.

What are you pinning today?

Fun Storage Idea

Hi guys - Can you believe it?  I am actually doing two posts in one day!  I saw this idea online and just thought I'd share it with you.

Source

I found this through a link on Pinterest.  Linda states that she's a teacher and made this for her classroom.  I {heart} the rainbow colored drawers!  She uses it in her classroom, however, I'm thinking this would be fab for brads, embellishments, scraps, etc.  The possibilities are endless!  You can see her blog post HERE.  This is on my list to do list.  I'll be sure to share once I've made one myself.

I wanted to leave you with one last thought.  We started a class last Wednesday at church called FireStarters.  We have homework each week and this week's homework was to share God's love with at least 5 people.  I have done that in various ways this week with people that I come into contact with and I wanted to share it with you all as well!  It's no secret, if you've read many of my posts, that I am very involved with my church.  The type of church I attend and the things I believe may be different than some of you or may be just the same...but putting all religious differences aside, I want you to know God loves you!    His love is the same no matter what you believe.  One thing I've been learning through some recent study and teaching is that God loves me for me and you for you.  You don't have to earn his love; he doesn't withhold it from you for bad behavior nor does he put conditions on it.  It's the purest form of love that has ever been or ever will be.  If you remember nothing else from this post, please remember that God loves you just the way you are, failures and successes.  You make him smile!

Blessings,
Cheryl

Pinterest Fun!

Happy Tuesday! I just wanted to share a few fun things I saw on Pinterest earlier today.

I think this is hilarious.  I have mentioned before that I'm totally addicted to pens, so I would agree.  In my case, it would say "Don't steal my pen, you will die!"

I thought this was hilarious as well.  My friends and hubby always tell me I'm the grammar police.  I can't help myself.  Proper grammar makes me smile!

They are so stinking cute.  The quote says it all!  Go, girlfriend!

I just thought I'd share a few smiles today.

Be Blessed,
Cheryl

Quick Tip - Embossing Brads

Happy Thursday Everyone!  It's been almost a week since I've posted.  I have  no excuse except I just lost track of time and all of a sudden it's Thursday!  I have a couple of cards that I just need to photograph and I'll be ready to share with you.

I was browsing Pinterest and came upon a fascinating tip that I wanted to share with you.

Source
On her blog HERE, Deena gives a great tip on how to use embossing powder on brads to change the color or add glitter.  How cool is that???  I love it.  I have a ton of brads that I bought in a big variety pack and some of the colors I will never use.  Now, I can change the color.

Basically, she says to heat up the brad with your embossing gun, then dip it in embossing powder.  Apparently the heat of the metal brad will melt the powder to it, then you just let it cool.  Voila!

I promise to have more cards and projects to share with you soon!  I finally got my desk cleaned out and back to normal and actually filmed a video.  I need to edit it and it will be ready to go too!

Blessings,
Cheryl

Fun project!

Before I started this blog, I made cards only as I needed them.  I never had a surplus or extra on hand.  That is no longer the case...

I now have many cards waiting to be used and they are all piled in a messy drawer.  Whenever I need a birthday or sympathy card, I have to dig to find the card, then dig to find the envelope.  When I saw this on Pinterest, I thought this may be my solution.

I've seen these mini magazine holders before and never paid much attention to them, honestly.  I thought these were really cute and clicked on the link and there was a fabulous tutorial!  You can go to the Embellish Me blog and see all the details.  I was thinking it would be great to make a few of these to go on the shelf in my spare room so I can easily find a card when I need it.  Have any of you ever made or used these before to store your cards?  This is definitely going on my to do list!  When I make them, I'll share the pics with you all.

Have a great day!

Bummed...

I'm really bummed that I don't have a video to share with you today.  I took several pictures and some videos at my booth last week and I can't seem to get it off the memory card.  It continues to say my computer won't recognize the files...UGH!  I shall be seeking technical help from someone manly whom I'm sure can figure it out, as my blonde brain is very perplexed.

I must apologize to you all for my lack of posts and ideas lately.  I think I've been in a funk.  I had gotten really burned out from so many big projects back to back and the thought of sitting at my desk and making something the last few days was not at all appealing.  So...I left my messy desk and decided I wasn't going to craft for a week, at least.  I think I just needed a break, because as soon as I decided that and took a day off, I was itching to make a card!  I guess taking the pressure away made it fun again.  So, I made 2 cards last night and have several projects from my booth to share.  I just have to take photos, which I hope to do tonight and then I should be back on track.  I have a huge list of ideas to try and share and some new things that are coming that I'm sure you'll love as much as me!

Until then, I thought I'd share a few Pinterest finds.

Isn't this adorable?  It wouldn't go with my ugly wood door, but on this white door, I think it's great.  I love the color and pattern mixture.  It's just fun!!

I love anything miniature....especially these little envelopes!  What a brilliant idea!  How fun would it be to tuck a little note into each one?  I may have to borrow this idea someday...

That's all for today.  I appreciate all of you reading and following my blog even though it's been sparse lately.  I am hopefully back to normal now!  Of course, normal is a relative term...

Blessings,
Cheryl

Stuff!

Hello all my crafty friends!  I hope you're having a wonderful Tuesday so far.  I am finally getting back into the swing of things after several terribly busy weeks.  I have a few projects that I hope to share with you in the next few days.  Until then, I thought I'd share a couple of fun things I found on Pinterest.  (Today is the first time I've been on there in weeks....I was having withdrawals)

First of all, isn't this pretty?  I just love a rainbow of colors.  This was done with embroidery floss, but I was thinking this would work great for twine, string or even ribbon.  I already have something for my baker's twine storage (which I'll show you later), but I'm thinking this could work for some of the solid colored twine I bought in many different colors.  Hmm....

I think this is a brilliant idea.  I have a corner between the wall and my desk and it's mainly wasted space.  This could be the solution.  I keep saving all these ideas...someday I may just use them!

I also wanted to let you all know I'm having a Mother's Day special on Pink and Paper Twine.

Regular Price $14.99
Sale Price $10.99

Go here to see the deals!  Thanks to you all for the support and orders from my new store.  I am working on new products as we speak.  Some are from other manufacturers and some are Pink and Paper exclusive products, designed by me, so be sure to check back often for updates.

I also wanted to say thanks so much for the kind thoughts, words and prayers for me and my family over the last few weeks.  You are all so kind and thoughtful and I really appreciate it.

Have a great day!

Blessings,
Cheryl

Fun Stuff!

Happy Wednesday to you all!  I have been super busy this week, so I have to apologize for the lack of posts.  As you know from my previous posts, I am trying to lose weight and learn to live healthier.  My mom, hubby and I joined a gym a couple of weeks ago.  Can I just add here that I hate to sweat?  Ewwww.  Anyway, I have been faithfully going every night with my mom to work out, but it's really thrown off my evenings and I'm trying to shuffle everything around and add 2 more hours in the day.  If you know how to do that, I'd love to know!  I made a bunch of cards this weekend and they're sitting there waiting to be photographed.  I have every intention of doing that tonight, so tomorrow I just might surprise you with a post!

On a different note, I am working on something really exciting that's coming to my blog.  I hope to have it all ready to show you guys by next week.  And I filmed more videos on Sunday, so I'm working on editing those. (I'm not good at that yet, so I move at a snail's pace)  I like this video thing.  I don't claim to be good at it, but I apparently love to talk (based on my family and friend's observations) and I enjoy talking to you all through the wonderful world of You Tube.

One last thing....

I just wanted to share something cool I found on Pinterest this morning.

Isn't this wreath super fun?  I love the mix of patterns and colors.  You can see the entire post here.  She made this using the Silhouette Cameo (I WANT ONE!!!!), but you could easily use the Cricut and make one just as lovely.  I look at projects like this and think "I soooooo don't have the patience for that".  Maybe someday I will.  I am wanting to start making some home decor items with my Cricut, so maybe a wreath is in my future.  If so, I will certainly share with you guys!

Just a warning...

After all this sweating in the gym...

not drinking Dr. Pepper (or anything very tasty for that matter)...

not eating chocolate or candy or any sugary goodness...

eating vegetables (does anyone really like vegetables???)...

If I don't lose some weight today, all of you will hear a screaming fit around 5:30pm coming from Oklahoma.
Just ignore it - It's me having a moment.

Have a blessed day!
Cheryl

Tic Tacs!

Pinterest has struck again!  I tell ya...I think they put something addictive on there so you can't stay away!  Kinda like nicotine in cigarettes....

Lazy!

Since I've been super lazy this week and still have nothing to post for you, I wanted to share something I found on Pinterest.  Until last week, I thought all the hype about Pinterest was just silly.  I had gone on there a couple of times and sorta skimmed, but never really looked.  I am now hooked!  I love it.  I have repented for my unbelief and am now a follower!  I've found several great ideas and some great inspiration for cards I'm hoping to make soon.  If you use Pinterest, I'd love for you to follow me.  You can click the link on the right side of the blog to see my board.

So, today, while I was supposed to be working, I went on there and browsed and found this great idea.

It's an envelope made from a heart!  Isn't that genius?  I think so.  I have no idea why I'm so impressed by this, but I love finding new ways to make things, so I will definitely have to try this.  I think this would be a great use for some large scraps of paper.

That's all for today.  I wanted to say thanks for being so patient with me the last few weeks.  I realize you don't just come here to read my ramblings and look at links, so I promise to get back in the swing of things super soon.  I have several projects that will be completed on Saturday, if not before, so I'll be ready to share those soon!  Thanks for sticking around while I come out of my "crafting slump"!  =)

Blessings,
Cheryl
