Rainbow!

Spare Cards?
Do any of you ever make cards and not post them on your blog or never give them away because they are just so-so? I do! Way too often, in fact. Today I thought I'd share a card with you from my "Spare Cards" stack. I don't wanna throw it away and waste it, but don't really know anyone that would love it either.
A few weeks ago, I did the Old School Cartridge Blog Hop and used Wild Card as my cartridge of choice. This was a card I originally made for that and never used. All the cuts are from Wild Card.

I tried to use up some scraps, so all this paper is from my scrap drawer. I originally thought the frame would be really cute in polka dot paper, but since it cut off alot of the dots, it didn't look great.
Then, there's the bird. He just makes me sad. Can't you hear him saying "Where are my wings?". He just looks odd to me. He needs a wing. I gave him an eye with my black Sharpie because prior to that he was really sad. I should have somehow added a wing. Oh well....poor, sad bird. Then, I smeared my dots on the letters and had to try to remove the smears before they dried on there permanently.
Finally, I added the ribbon using glue dots. When I decided I wanted to change it, it was stuck on so well I couldn't take it off. I really don't hate this card. I just don't have a special place in my heart for it either. That's why it goes in the "Spare Cards" drawer. Someday, I may have the perfect occasion to use it, who knows?
Have a wonderfully fabulous day!
Blessings,
Cheryl

Throwback Thursday Challenge
Emma at My Creative Time just posted a new Throwback Thursday challenge. The challenge is to create a card using Wild Card or Just Because Cards and use a stamped sentiment. I haven’t joined one of her challenges in a while, so decided to join in! Since I’m home for a snow day (4th day in a row….woo hoo!), I have been crafting up a storm.
I used Wild Card for the flower card base. The base and leaves are cardstock by Recollections and the flower paper is from KI Memories. The stamp is from the dollar bin at Michaels. I added a button tied with some twine and Voila!

Congrats Card
When I got home from church tonight, I made a quick congrats card and thought I’d share it with you guys! I used Wild Card for the card base and the “congrats”. The circle and star are from George & Basic Shapes. It’s a really simple quick card and I just love that rainbow stripe paper. Doesn’t it somehow make you think of Rainbow Brite??? I loved her!!

Here’s the inside of the card:

**I ended up adding a lime green bow to the top of the front and it looked really good. Blonde moment = no photo taken before sealing it up in the envelope!!**
Blessings,
Cheryl

Monster Card
My little brother turned 31 last week, which means I am just a week or so away from being older myself! He's quite the opposite of me in every way. I love all things pink and cheery and sparkly and pretty whereas he loves all things black and scary and strange. =) So, I thought it appropriate to make him a monster birthday card. This card is made using Wild Card cartridge and the Tiny Bubbles embossing folder with my Cuttlebug. I know monsters are supposed to be mean and scary, but I think he's kinda cute! Enjoy!
