Fun Cupcake Card!

Did anyone else feel like this when you woke up this morning?  Don't get me wrong...  It's not Mondays that I dislike - it's Monday mornings!  I believe an alarm is the harshest way of waking up.  There's something so wrong about having to wake up to a loud, blaring horn while it's still dark outside.  Alas, I must do it every day.  Enough whining...

I have a fun cuppy-cake card to share with you all today....

I love this card, mainly because of the paper.  I bought this paper a long time ago, but have had a hard time using it on certain projects.  I think it worked perfectly on this one!

For the base, I welded two shadows together using my Gypsy.  I inked all the edges with black ink.

I cut several of each layer, then added them with foam tape to make it dimensional.  This sometimes creates a challenge in finding an envelope to fit, but it's worth it to make it look fancy!  

I cut the tiny banners with my Cricut, stamped them, then added a brad and some twine.  All done!

Cupcake - Straight From the Nest, cut at 4.75"

Banners - Cricut Artiste, cut at .50"

Envelope (not pictured) - Just Because Cards, cut at 5.5"

Happy Card!

I am really excited about the card I'm sharing with you today.  It's so bright and cheery and happy!

I've seen many flowers made using circle punches, so I thought I'd try my hand at it.  Of course, I used my Cricut and not punches, but it works!  I have had one sheet of this striped paper forever and finally decided to use it.  It was hard to cut into it because I like it so much (and want to hoard it), but I managed to pull out that trimmer start cutting.

I layered 3 circles on top of each other with foam dots in between, so they really stood out.  I also put the leaves on using foam dots.  The sentiment is a stamp by Stampendous and the blue border came from Elegant Edges.

I can't wait to make more of these flowers!  I really had fun with them and I think they could be great if I tried mixing patterns and colors on each flower.

Base - Recollections Cardstock, cut at 9.25" x 4.75"

Striped Paper - Colorbok, cut at 9.25" x 3"

Blue Paper - Colorbok, cut 2 using Elegant Edges @ 1.47", Border <shift> on pg 55

Party Hat Card

Hey guys!  I finally have a project to share with you all.  It felt great to be back at my desk, although I must admit - I'm out of my groove!  I sat at my desk and just stared at the paper forever and finally came up with this.  It helped that I went a little shopping crazy and bought 4 new packs of paper this week!

Happy Monday!  Did we even have a weekend?  Mine blew by way too fast and now I'm back at work...ugh!  Today I have a super quick, fun card to share with you.

Tall Thanks Card

It's Monday again...and my last holiday until May!  I love my job because we get a good amount of paid holidays ever year, but the stretch from the MLK holiday to Memorial Day (in May) is very loooooong!  I am trying to savor today and make it stretch as long as possible.  =)

Today I have a really easy thank you card to share with you.  It only took a few minutes and would be easy to mass produce, if needed.

This was made to fit a business sized envelope.  The card measures 4"x9".  The paper is from a stack by Colorbok from Walmart.  I really love the color scheme of this paper.  

The stamp is from the dollar bin at Walmart and was stamped in chocolate ink, then embossed with clear embossing powder.  I cut the flowers from Straight From The Nest and inked the edges with chocolate ink.  I added a gem to the center to make it sparkle.

That's it for this card!  The paper on the bottom half of the card is so busy, I didn't think I could add too much or it would be overpowering.

Happy Flower Card

It finally happened.  We had snow last night in Oklahoma.  I think snow is one of the most beautiful things God ever created and have been waiting all winter for it to happen.  I came out of the door at church and saw these big, beautiful, swirling snowflakes glistening under the lights of the parking lot.  {big smiles}  It only lasted a short time, and I was hoping for more, but I enjoyed it while it lasted.

Monday, Monday!

It's Monday...again!  Normally, Mondays are my least favorite day of the week.  I am very busy with lots of church duties on Sunday, so I always feel rushed to get in bed on time on Sunday nights, which in turn makes for some tired, rough Monday mornings.  I'm off today (last day of my holiday time off), so today has been an abnormally good Monday....

Fancy Tree Card

Today I want to share a card using my newest cartridge - Straight From the Nest.  I love this cart!  The trees and flowers are super fun!  I have gotten several new carts the last few months and after the holidays, I can't wait to start sharing new stuff with you from all of them.

Do you recognize that orange polka dot paper on the tree?  It's actually sorta funny.  I got one 12x12 sheet of it at Michael's on sale for .20 and have now used it on 3 cards and still have some left.  Now that's thrifty, huh? Actually, I just love polka dots and orange fits this time of year, so it just worked out that way.  I cut the tree from Straight From the Nest.  I hand cut the "hills".

The sentiment is from a stamp I got at Joanns in the dollar bin!  It had some swirly things on it, but I wanted the simple wording so I cut those off.

I added the tree using foam tape, to give it some dimension.  The button is from the Walmart dollar bin and I added some twine to it to make it fancy.  =)

I must admit, I went out on a limb with this one.  Since I tend to be a little obsessive compulsive, I have a hard time making things in colors that aren't natural.  Obviously, hills aren't plaid (wouldn't it be cool if they were?) but when I got the idea for this card, I decided to try it.  I really like it, but my first instinct is to find a green-only pattern because that's the color of grass.  I know...I'm a little crazy.  I am learning to relax and try new things, thus an orange polka dot tree on plaid hills!
