Sunflower Birthday Card

Happy Spring!  Yesterday was the "official" first day of Spring and we've had nothing but rain!  I love rain, but a lot of folks are wishing for more springlike weather.  Today I want to share a fun and very simple birthday card with you...

Christmas Tags

Woo hoo!  I actually got some crafting done this weekend.  My desk and Cricut were certainly feeling neglected.  Being back at my desk crafting surely made for a happy Saturday.  Once a month, we have a Sunday afternoon staff meeting at church.  Since the meeting was today, I wanted to make some Christmas goodies to take to everyone.  Here are some of the tags I made...

Happy December!  Can you believe it's December 1st?  I can't.  This year's flown by super fast!  Today I want to share a simple, masculine birthday card I made for my friend at church.

Ghost Treat Bag

Don't you love fall weather?  I do!  I completely hate being hot, so summer isn't my thing.  I love fall and winter.  In Oklahoma, sometimes it takes us a while to get chilly fall weather and it finally came this week.  When I woke up this morning, I opened my back door just to step outside and feel the chilly breeze.  Correction - in Oklahoma we almost never have a "breeze".  It was more like a major 40 mph wind gust, but still wonderful and cool.  This weather can only mean one thing...Halloween is just around the corner!!  Since I don't have kids, I don't have to worry with costumes and such, but I still like the holiday.  I bought a ton of candy (yeah, coupons!) so I had to make some bags to put it in.  Here's one of them...

Floral Birthday Card

Happy Saturday!  I hope you're all having a great day so far.  I wanted to share a card I made a few weeks ago.  While I was trolling those tempting dollar bins at Walmart, I found this paper and loved it.  So, I made several cards with it.

For the base, I used a shape from Elegant Edges. I welded the shadow to form the base, then cut the other layers in smaller sizes. I inked the edges of each piece with Chestnut Brown chalk ink.

I cut the rounded rectangle and shadow from Tags, Bags, Boxes and More and stamped the sentiment on there in the same brown ink.  (As you can see, I made a card that said "Happy Birthday" and one that said "Girlfriends" both using the same layout)  The flower is from Serenade Solutions. I inked the edges and added a button tied with twine. The flower is attached using foam dots.

I lined the inside of the card with the same pink paper I used on the flower.

I wanted to create a matching envelope because I love this paper so much!  I cut the envelope from Plantin Schoolbook and sized it to fit on my Gypsy.  Please ignore the horrible pictures.  I tried a new light and it looked really good on my camera...ha ha.  When I loaded them on my computer, they looked terrible.  Of course, I've already given the cards away now, so I can't re-photograph!

Thanks for looking.  And....thanks for being a follower!  I love sharing with you all hearing from you.

Minnie GIANT Birthday Tag!

Good Morning!  I hope you are all having a wonderful start to your weekend.

Today’s is my niece's 2nd birthday party, so last night we went and got her a gift.  When I got home and was looking for a gift bag from my stash, I found this cute one with giant black and white polka dots.  The first thing I thought of was “It reminds me of Minnie Mouse”. So, instead of a card – for a 2 yr. old who can’t read it anyway – I’ll make a giant Minnie tag to match the bag.

I used Mickey Mouse Font cart for Minnie and for her name, Create a Critter for “happy birthday” and TBBM for the tag base.  I added stitching and some polka dot ribbon and attached it to the bag.  The overall tag measures around 9” x 4.5”, so it’s pretty big, but I think it looks great on this big bag.

I made it really late last night and attached it to the bag before I even thought of taking a picture, so I had to take some while it’s on the bag.  Here it is….

Flaunt it Friday’s Challenge #7

Happy Friday everyone!  I hope your week has been fabulous…but thank goodness it’s the weekend.  Since Monday is a holiday, I am off work so that makes the weekend so much better!  Today’s challenge over at Flaunt it Fridays is to use the skull from Mini Monsters.  I am a proud member of the design team, so here’s my project for this week.  I don’t own that cart (but want to!), so I used the skull from Indie Art instead.

Christmas Treats!

Happy Sunday Everyone!! First of all, I have several new followers and I would like to say a HUGE THANK YOU for checking out my blog. I hope to share some fun, great stuff with you. Welcome!

As some of you know, I'm the Children's Pastor at my church. I love to do little tokens of appreciation for my helpers and volunteers throughout the year. I was short on time this year (my own fault!!) so at the last minute, I opted to make the tree boxes from Tags, Bags, Boxes and More. These are too cute! I wish I'd had more time to embellish them, but at least I got them done. I filled them with holiday M&M's and tied ribbon around them from American Crafts.

Here are the pics...
I used several shades of green Recollections cardstock. I really like this paper. I get it at Michael's and they put it on sale really cheap several times per month. Personally, for an inexpensive cardstock, I think it's the best. I also had saved some clear plastic from packaging of various items and used that in the window of the box.

Check back tomorrow...I have some really cute "puff boxes" I made instead of Christmas cards to give to everyone at church. I created them with my Gypsy and I'm excited to share. In a few weeks, I'll have a tutorial showing you how to make them yourself.

Have a Dino-mite Birthday!!

I finally got Create a Critter and Simply Charmed (thanks to birthday money!!). I LOVE them! I made this silly birthday card for a guy at church that helps in our Children's ministry. It's quite silly for a grown man, but I had to try out these carts. He has a good sense of humor, so hopefully he'll like it! I don't like the black lining I did on the letters...but I'm too tired to re-do them. I'll know better next time. =) I used Smiley Cards for the actual card and Tags, Bags, Boxes and More for the white liner. The dinosaur and "dinomite" are from Create a Critter and the rest of the letters are from Pooh Font.

Happy Fall!!

On Sunday, we had a little fall party at church in my Children's Church class. I made goodie bags for the kids and also wanted to make some for my faithful, wonderful helpers - They make my job much easier! I don't have any carts with cute, smiley pumpkins on them, so I decided to make my own using my Gypsy. I made the little cups from Tags, Bags, Boxes and More and then used various shapes to create the pumpkins. I wrote the sentiment on there as I don't have any fall stamps.

My Pink Stamper Challenge - Something Cute!

This is for another MPS Challenge. Robyn has challenges going on all week over at My Pink Stamper and this challenge is to make something cute! I saw these cute little triangle boxes/ornaments made with punch art a while back and figured I could probably recreate it with the cricut. I used Tags, Bags, Boxes and More for the box and Storybook for the rest of the cuts.

Frank!

I love to check out other people's blogs. It helps fuel my creativity and gives me great ideas. I saw the cutest Frankenstein card from punch art the other day and wondered if I could re-create it with my cricut. Here's my take on it. I used Tags, Bags, Boxes and More and Storybook. The sentiment is handwritten as I don't have any Halloween stamps. I'm not sure where I saw this so I apologize for not being able to acknowledge my inspiration.

Thanksgiving Challenge

This week I decided to try out my first challenge. One of the blogs I frequent, Cricut Cardz Challenge #45, has a challenge this week to make a Thanksgiving card. I don't have a turkey (or anything really thanksgiving-ish) on any of my cartridges. So, I got to play with my Gypsy...yippee! I am not in love with this card but decided to submit it anyway. It's missing something but I'm on a deadline so I'll just have to leave it as is.

Ghost Card

My co-worker asked me to make her some Halloween cards. Here's the first one I made. I created the ghost using my new favorite thing, my Gypsy. I welded some tags from Tags, Bags, Boxes and More and added the smile and eyes from Plantin Schoolbook. The BOO letters are from Sesame Street Font. The actual card is green and the orange you see is the envelope.

Cheryl
