She's Back!!!

Finally, I am back in the land of blogging and crafting! I have really missed you guys and I think I might have actually heard my Cricut & Gypsy sobbing last night from feeling so neglected. It saddened my heart.

The last few weeks have held some stress and busy times for me. Besides the family situation we had, I had orders for almost 200 teacher appreciation items, had a garage sale (Yea for me...made over $400 on my junk!), made 30 paper teacups for our women's tea last night (with help from my good pal, Cassie), had to make what seemed like a gazillion birthday cards for May and a bunch of other little stuff that took up way too much time.

I am officially taking a breath for the first time in 2 weeks.

WOW! That felt good.

Ok, so now for the real reason you're here... My good friend Trudy is the president of PTA at her kid's school. She was kind enough to hire me to make goodies for their teacher appreciation week festivities. Although it's hard work, I really do enjoy it and I certainly enjoy the money!

This is one of the 3 items I made. This hanging treat box was designed on my Gypsy and was actually easier to design than I'd anticipated. I am planning to make several styles and offer them for download in my store in a few weeks, if any of you would like to try them as well.  There were several blogs I saw where they hand cut them all, but if I can use my Gypsy, that's what I do.  It's such a time saver for me.

The patterned paper is from The Paper Studio and I purchased it at Hobby Lobby. For the crayon, apple and pencil, I used the Gypsy and the cartridges are listed below. The sentiment was printed on my computer, then punched out with a 1.5" punch. I used a 2" scalloped circle punch to cut the bigger circle.

Pencil - Smiley Cards
Apple - Doodlecharms
Crayon - Simply Charmed

I glued everything to the box and then adhered the pencils/apples/crayons with a foam dot.

Each container held a single serve packet of drink mix (I used Hawaiian Punch Lemon Berry and Strawberry Lime - YUMMMMM) and a pack of either cheese or peanut butter crackers. From what Trudy said, they were hit and that makes my heart happy!

I'll be back soon with the rest of my projects for the school and then will post my Mother's Day projects after I deliver them.

Have a blessed and wonderful Friday!

Soft Pink Flower Card

Today I want to share a card with you that was inspired by Pinterest.  Have I mentioned this week how much I love that site?  I know I tell you every week.  I can't stay away!

Smiley Pumpkin

Do you give cards for Halloween?  I never have before.  It just doesn't seem like one of those card holidays to me.  I found some great Halloween paper that I liked, so I decided I would make some cards and give them away this year...just because.  Since I'm a chicken and don't like scary things (no horror flicks for me), I made mine a cheerful Halloween card....

XOXO!!

A couple of weeks ago, my brother and his wife celebrated their 2nd wedding anniversary.  I decided to do a silly, funny card.  I used Smiley Cards, which I noticed I’ve been neglecting.  I can remember not too long after I got my Gypsy, they released Smiley Cards as a free download and I was so excited!  Sadly, I haven’t used it much at all.
happy heart 1
I made this card late at night, and had to take a quick picture at work before mailing it out, so I apologize for the weird looking background.  I used Smiley Cards for the base, the mat and the heart.  I cut the red tongue from red foil paper, so it was pretty shiny.  I put the heart on with an Action Wobble (love those!) so it just bobs around…which is way fun!
This is not my normal style, but it was fun to just make a silly card.  Thanks for stopping by today!

Cheryl

Happy Monday!

Is it Monday already?  Why do the weekends fly by so fast? I hope you all had a wonderful weekend while it lasted.  Mine was nice and relaxing.  I was able to get a lot of crafting time on Saturday which makes me a happy girl.  Now if I can just get a maid to come clean my house while I’m busy crafting…that would be great!

I have a couple more cards to share with you today.  The base for the first one was made using Smiley Cards.  I cut a few circles for the mats from George & Basic Shapes and the word is from Gypsy Wanderings.  The pink flower is a brad I got from Oriental Trading and I just tied some twine through it.  I added stitching with my white Gelly Roll pen.

For this next card, I cut it to fit into a size 10 envelope.  I used Serenade for the vase and leaves.  The stamp came from the dollar bin at Michaels.  As I was getting ready to post this, I realized I accidentally deleted some of my pictures of this card, so I don’t have one of the whole card…yikes!!!  Major blonde moment, apparently.  I decided to go ahead and share the pictures that survived the delete key anyway.

“You Say It’s Your Birthday” Blog Hop

Welcome to the “You Say It’s Your Birthday Blog Hop.  I am pleased to be a part of this fun and happy event! You should have arrived here from Heather’s blog.  If not, you can start hopping at Erika’s blog.  Erika, over at Cricut Love, is our host for this hop and she’s done a wonderful job!  We have some great sponsors and Erika has some awesome giveaways, so be sure to check our her post for all the details.
Erika’s daughter, Ashley, is having a birthday and that’s what we’re celebrating!  She and Ashley are HUGE Beatles fans, so we were asked to make a project inspired by one of their songs.  I am not familiar with a lot of their songs {{{GASP…I know!}}}, so I just looked through some of the titles and chose one.  I chose Strawberry Fields Forever as I’m sure you can tell from my pics!  I hope Ashley loves her card and has a wonderful birthday.

I used Smiley Cards for the base and the oval shaped mats and Simply Charmed for the strawberry.  I used the hide contour feature on my Gypsy to take the face off the strawberry.  The strawberry was embossed using the Swiss Dots Cuttlebug folder and then I inked the dots with some red chalk ink.

Your next stop on the hop is Melin @  Cooking with Cricut.  Head over there for more fun!

Simple Smiley Guitar

My sister-in-law called and asked if I had time to make a card for her nephew's birthday party today. She said he's really into guitars, so I, of course, thought of the Smiley Card guitar cut. I don't love his mouth, so I changed it with my Gypsy. I am not totally in love with this card but I think it will be just fine for a little boy. Something about it just doesn't look right to me....

On a different note, can you believe Christmas is only one week away? Wow! I'm unprepared! Today I will be working like a crazy woman getting treat bags and goodies ready to give away for Christmas at church tomorrow. I will hopefully post pics of those tonight or tomorrow. I'm trying to create some of my own box and bag templates on my Gypsy. In the next few weeks, watch for my very first tutorial on one of these projects! I'm off to work now. Are you ready for Christmas?????

Simple Cards

Christmas is coming sooooo quickly! Last week, I had some wonderful young helpers decorate my classroom at church for me, so I wanted to make them each a thank you card. Two are young boys and one is a teenage girl. Here's what I made for them...

I made this for the girl. I used the sentiment and bowl of strawberries from Simply Charmed. Love that cute bowl!!!

This is from Smiley Cards. I tried to keep this as simple as possible because it was for a 12 year old boy! (You know......not much will please them!)

I made this using Create a Critter for the dinosaur and the word DinoMite. I handwrote "You are" with a black Sharpie. The orange paper was some embossed paper I got on clearance.

I will have some Christmas projects to post in the next day or two. I'm also very excited to share that I am working on my first video. I hope to share it with you all soon! I am working on a couple of gypsy tutorials......can't wait!!

Fantabulous Cricut - Challenge #36

This week's challenge at Fantabulous Cricut is to make a get well card. I'm really loving Smiley Cards...so I chose this cute band-aid. I actually used the hide/contour feature on my gypsy and swapped his eyes and mouth with another characters to make him look "sicker"...ha ha. I think it's missing something but everything I added just looked weird. Ever have one of those days???

Oh.....and have you ever thought about how to spell the word Ow-ee? or is it Owie?? Or Owwee?? Who knows? I don't so I guessed. What do you think?

Have a Dino-mite Birthday!!

I finally got Create a Critter and Simply Charmed (thanks to birthday money!!). I LOVE them! I made this silly birthday card for a guy at church that helps in our Children's ministry. It's quite silly for a grown man, but I had to try out these carts. He has a good sense of humor, so hopefully he'll like it! I don't like the black lining I did on the letters...but I'm too tired to re-do them. I'll know better next time. =) I used Smiley Cards for the actual card and Tags, Bags, Boxes and More for the white liner. The dinosaur and "dinomite" are from Create a Critter and the rest of the letters are from Pooh Font.

Blessings,
