Quick Tip!

Dr. Pepper is the sweet nectar of heaven.

You will never convince me otherwise.

It is my Kryptonite.

I have been trying to lose weight and make healthier choices and Dr. Pepper gets me every time! Although I haven't fully given it up, I am cutting back.  When I do have it, I want it cold, served over ice (in a non-sweat cup, to be exact).  I don't want it straight from the bottle or can...even if it's cold.  It has to be cold, then poured over ice.  Yes, I know.  I am very particular.

So what do you do when you just bought it and the can is hot?  I have the solution!  Check out this quick video.  It's amazing!

Happy Friday!

Inking Tip

Is anyone else ready for the weekend?  It's been one of those days and I just need to get out of here (work) and start my weekend!  I really like my job but there are some not-so-great situations right now that just make me want to stay home.  Come on weekend!

I wanted to share a quick tip with you today that I discovered in the wonderful world of Pinterest.  Some of you may already do this, but it was news to me!  I really like the look of inking my Cricut cuts and the edges of my cards, but it's always messy.  I've been too cheap to invest in the little dauber things, so I've been using the wedge makeup sponges and cutting them into smaller pieces.

The problem with these is that it gets all over my fingers and me no likey that!  I saw an idea to use the little eyeshadow sponges instead, so I got some.  Can I say fab-u-lous?  They work like a dream. (in my humble opinion)  And they're super cheap!  I also found that because of their size, they are great for getting in the nooks and crannies of your cuts.  I got a small pack at Walmart, but found a better deal on Amazon here:

You can get 20 of them for $1.99.  What a bargain!  =)

Hopefully this will help some of you keep your fingers nice and clear of ink.  Have a great Friday!

Blessings,
Cheryl

Re-sticking your mat

Howdy everyone!  I hope you all are having a wonderful Monday evening.  I will have a project to post tomorrow, but today I wanted to share a little tip with you.  A topic of great discussion on many blogs I frequent is how to re-stick your Cricut mat.  Over the last few months, I've tried several different ways and wasn't totally happy with any of them.  I happened upon a YouTube video a few weeks ago that suggested using the Scotch Removable Restickable Glue Stick.  I have to apologize because I can't remember who posted this tip.  Since I had a 50% off coupon for Michaels, I decided to try it.  It was only $2.99 before coupon, so it was worth the risk!

I love it!  I used a scraper to clean off my mat and then added two coats of the glue.  I let it dry for about 3-4 minutes and was ready to go.  I have cut quite a bit since then and my mat is still as sticky as the first day I did it.  I would highly recommend this method of making your mats last longer.  One more tip - Every time I finish crafting, I wipe my mat down with a baby wipe before putting it away.  This seems to extend the stickiness as well.
I also want to say a quick welcome to all of you who have visited me from the link on Momo's blog and become followers.  Thanks so much for stopping by and sticking around!

Blessings,
Cheryl
