Old School Cartridge Blog Hop

Welcome to Pink and Paper and the Old School Cartridges Blog Hop!  If you've come from visiting Justina at Just My Crafts, you're in the right place! If you've just happened across my blog and would like to play along with our fun hop, you can go to Inking It Up Crazy and start at the beginning. We would love to share a few projects and ideas with you using the older Cricut cartridges.  So get ready for some super fun projects and some fun giveaways along the way!  After you have finished the hop, be sure to head on back to Inking It Up Crazy and create and link up a project of your own using one of your older cartridges.  The older the better;)  Make sure to check out each member's blog. There will be some fun prizes along the way, AND there will be some FABULOUS ideas!

Each of us was asked to choose an older cartridge for the Hop, and I chose Wild Card.  This was the first cartridge I ever bought and, sadly, I hardly ever use it now.  I made two cards to share with you today using the present cut.

I cut the card and envelope at 5.25 inches.  At this size, you can fit the envelope on a 12x12 page easily.  Quick Tip – When cutting a card with a matching envelope, cut your envelope first using the Fit To Page function on your Cricut.  Watch what size it cuts and then match your card to it.  This will insure your envelope will not be bigger than your paper.  Many times I have cut a card from this cart only to realize that it’s too big for me to cut an envelope to fit.  I cut the envelope from solid paper and then cut the frame from patterened paper.

The paper I used is by Recollections and the stamp is by Imaginisce.  I added some bling to the tag to jazz it up a bit.

The card base was cut from white.  I added the bow/ribbon on with foam dots to make it stand out a bit.

Here’s the second card I made using the same cut.  I cut it at 5.25 as well.  I got this paper from the Target Dollar Spot – isn’t it cheerful?

I used the same stamp as the other card and added a brad instead of the bling.

To finish it off, I added glitter glue to the brad to make it sparkle.

Now, to the fun stuff – the giveaway!  I will be giving away some paper crafting essentials.  Here are the goods:
